To keep your account and payments safe and secure, we need all our customers to verify their identities on their CardUp accounts.
What is happening?
In line with the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Guidelines issued by the Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department, enhancements are made to the way we keep accounts and payment secure. As such, all users are required to complete a new profile verification by 31 March 2022.
This also protects your user identity and account, ensuring the security of your account and payments. Our processes are 100% compliant with CED regulations and the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (the "PDPO").
What do you need to do?
- Log in to your CardUp account
- Navigate to 'Account' then 'Account Settings' from the left navigation menu. Verify your email if you haven't already.
- Verify your details through one of the methods below:
Select the type of identity document you wish to upload to start verifying your identity - you can select either your passport, or your Hong Kong Identification card.
You will then be prompted to upload your passport or Hong Kong Identification card accordingly.
- Complete the rest of your profile
At this stage, you will need to complete your profile. You will be required to verify your address, per requirements from HKCED. You can upload your proof of address by clicking on the "Upload document" as shown below:
Once done, you may proceed to set up a payment with us. We will review your proof of address once you have set up your first payment. This will take a maximum of 1 business day for your profile and payment to be verified.
